L'Officiel caught up with the star as she takes on a new role at Guerlain.

Most of us know Charlotte Le Bon through her acting, but she&rsquo;s also a visual artist and director with two acclaimed films (Judith H&ocirc;tel and Falcon Lake) that established her as a cinematic force. She lent her voice to the documentary Anthropocene: The Human Epoch, bringing attention to our impact and footprint on the planet. This year, she returned to TV with another breakout role, Chloe, in The White Lotus Season 3.
Her creative path has always been guided by a lifelong connection to nature and art, making her collaboration with Guerlain, a Maison committed to sustainability and beauty, feel perfectly aligned. &ldquo;Nature has boundless evocative powers and is both my refuge and my muse. I&rsquo;m extremely proud to become Guerlain Bee Ambassador, a role that will allow me to connect with a wider audience, especially concerning bees, which hold an absolutely vital place in our ecosystems," shared the artist.

How did this partnership with Guerlain come about?
I&rsquo;m honoured that Guerlain invited me to become their Bee Ambassador. It&rsquo;s a Maison that is genuinely committed to sustainability and nature conservation, so I particularly liked the subject of the collaboration, and I thought it was original that it wasn&rsquo;t about a product.
What excites me is that through this role, I will be able to showcase the intelligence of nature. It is everywhere, often discreet, such as in the organisation of bees, but we easily forget about it. When we no longer see it, we sometimes act without taking the consequences into account. I would like to help to put it back at the centre of attention, in a simple and accessible way. The aim of this Bee Ambassador role is not to put me on a pedestal but rather to pass on a sense of awareness to a wider audience concerning the protection of bees, a fascinating world essential for our ecosystem. If we succeed in inspiring people, the mission will be accomplished

You mentioned nature is both your refuge and your muse. Can you tell us more about it?
I grew up in Montreal until I was 11 years old. Then we moved to the Laurentides. This vast region, which is still extremely wild in places, intimidated me for a long time. I was terrified at night. The silence of the forests seemed more threatening to me than the reassuring hubbub of the city. I gradually learnt how to tame it. In winter, after school, I would go off skiing in the snowy mountains. In summer, I jumped from clifftops to swim in the lakes. This area really saw me grow up.
My relationship with nature has changed a lot over the years. As a child, it was embodied by the world of my grandparents, who lived near large forests. At that time, nature was a realm of the imagination, peopled by fantastical characters. Later, during my teenage years, it became the stage for my first steps outside the city.
Nowadays, after spending several years in Paris, it has become both my refuge and my muse. The roots of the imaginative world planted during my childhood have never disappeared; they have turned into an unending source of inspiration. Nature has boundless evocative powers, and I&rsquo;m beginning to see the magic in it again. This magic is now indispensable to me for creating.

Guerlain&rsquo;s bee work spans conservation, women&rsquo;s empowerment, and education. Is there one initiative you&rsquo;re especially excited to dive into &ndash; or maybe already have?
My first step is about learning more about bees, their world, their conservation and responsible honey harvesting because it is their food. I can&rsquo;t wait to find out all about the Maison&rsquo;s commitments to protect these essential little creatures, and I&rsquo;m curious to continue to discover how Guerlain combines respect for nature with sustainable innovation through concrete actions. The different sustainable development messages that exist are essential, but they are rarely engaging. The modules in Guerlain&rsquo;s Bee School programme make the subject very accessible and also show that our contribution can be fun!

I know we often think of sustainability as this big concept, but have you found any small, almost everyday ways of weaving that into your routine since working with Guerlain?
I don&rsquo;t consume much, and I hold onto my clothes and things for as long as possible. I&rsquo;m also drawn to brands that pay attention to the ingredients used in their formulas and traceability. I very rarely order online and I choose organic, local food as much as possible. I don&rsquo;t see myself as an activist, strictly speaking, but nature holds a key place in my life and work, so I do my best to live in harmony with it, even if I&rsquo;m not flawless.

How do you see the relationship between sustainability and beauty evolving today? And on a more personal note, how do you bring that philosophy into your daily routine or lifestyle?
My wish would be for sustainability to form an integral part of every aspect of our everyday lives, including in the beauty industry. A world in which responsible choices are the norm and not the exception, in which companies will no longer have to prove their environmental commitment, but it will simply be obvious. I&rsquo;m still learning a great deal myself. I think that you have to simply keep your own curiosity alive, because this is what allows us to create a connection, first of all with yourself and then with others.
