My first introduction to the House was through none other than the Abeille Royale a couple years ago &ndash; right when I began noticing my skin could use some extra oomph beyond the basics. These days, there&rsquo;s a name for that: prejuvenation.&nbsp;

This year, with the launch of the fifth generation Abeille Royale Youth Watery Oil Serum, I had the chance to experience the new formula &ndash; alongside other essentials and spa-exclusives from the line &ndash; in a 60-minute facial treatment.&nbsp;

Situated in The Exchange TRX, Guerlain Ultimate Boutique is home to a complete collection of skincare, makeup, and fragrances, as well as the House&rsquo;s first facial cabin in Malaysia. Warm, cosy, and sophisticated, the suite faithfully mirrors the Parisian flagship with a modern touch, and I was soon enveloped in a sense of relaxation. During the personalised consultation, I expressed my concerns about reactive, breakout-prone skin, and my facialist Xiao Bing reassured me the featured products, full of naturally derived ingredients, would be soothing yet potent enough to feel the benefits.&nbsp;

As soon as I was tucked in the incredibly snug blanket, my session began with removal of makeup, sunscreen, and excess sebum using the Cleansing Oil, followed by the Care-in-Mousse to deep cleanse the pores. I felt an instant wave of freshness. Xiao Bing explained that it&rsquo;s the glycerin in the gel-to-foam formula that helps to relieve the skin from hard water while retaining moisture.&nbsp;
After having my skin condition carefully assessed, we moved on to the peeling step to prep it for subsequent treatments. The pairing of Guerlain&rsquo;s spa-exclusive grain-free exfoliator and massage was such a soothing experience, perfect for those (like me) who usually shy away from scrubs and other physical exfoliants. Right before the pi&egrave;ces de resistance of this treatment, Xiao Bing applied the KissKiss Bee Glow around my lips. She told me the rich, soothing lip balm would protect the delicate area from tension and pulling during the massage ahead. I love little thoughtful touches like this.
Then came a curated rejuvenating regimen featuring the Oil-in-Balm, Honey Cataplasm Mask, Fortifying Lotion, Youth Watery Oil Serum, Eye Cream, and Honey Treatment Day Cream. They were layered with Guerlain&rsquo;s bespoke gestures to enhance absorption, longevity, and efficacy. Those tapping, lifting, and smoothing motions might feel a bit intense at first but soon eased into a state of relaxation, all while promoting circulation and lymphatic drainage.&nbsp;
Post-treatment, I could see a visibly lifted complexion, not in a dramatic way but as if I&rsquo;d just treated myself to the best sleep and woke up looking totally refreshed. The hydration boost left my skin&rsquo;s texture looking more refined with a healthy glow and flush to it &ndash; probably from the massage and the UV Skin Defense in the final step, which I find doubles as a glow-giving base!
