In hindsight, we as a society should have foreseen the friends-to-lovers trope that was simply waiting to unfold back in 2013 upon the release of A$AP Rocky&rsquo;s &ldquo;Fashion Killa&rdquo; music video, which fittingly featured his then-friend Rihanna as the fashion killa in question&mdash;a sentiment that holds true in real life, as well (see here for evidence, more evidence, and, oh look, further evidence).

Since then, the pair maintained an allegedly platonic albeit flirtatious friendship amidst a handful of various high-profile relationships weathered between the two throughout the years.

Fast forward to December 2020 and the Internet was sent into pandemonium when photos of the couple in Barbados (where much of Riri&rsquo;s family resides) surfaced, swiftly prompting dating rumours in the wake of Rihanna&rsquo;s split from her previous boyfriend of three years, Hassan Jameel, earlier that year. From that moment on, it was clear as day&mdash;things were happening. Although it wasn&rsquo;t until a May interview with GQ that A$AP publicly confirmed their relationship, referring to the &quot;Love on the Brain&quot; singer as &ldquo;my lady&rdquo; and &ldquo;the love of my life,&rdquo; the couple&#39;s numerous PDA-filled outings prior to that point had pretty much already told us all we needed to know.
