If you hadn&#39;t known already, this year&#39;s Metropolitan Museum of Art&#39;s fashion showcase in May will be featuring the one and only Rei Kawakubo of&nbsp;Comme des Gar&ccedil;ons.

Known as one of the most forward visionaries of this generation with a penchant for challenging the conventions of fashion, Rei is definitely one of our favourite designers at L&#39;Officiel Malaysia.

And here is s a sneak peek of what to expect inside the Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Gar&ccedil;ons: Art of the In-Between exhibit!

Marking the first ever living designer to be featured in a monograph exhibit since Yves Saint Laurent in 1983, the Metropolitan Museum of Art will be featuring over 150 masterpieces by Rei Kawakubo, exploring her many revolutionary designs from the 1980s till now, at the Costume Institute.

Broken into various themes, the exhibit will focus on eight unique expressions found in Rei&#39;s works:&nbsp;Fashion/Anti-Fashion, Design/Not Design, Model/Multiple, Then/Now, High/Low, Self/Other, Object/Subject, and Clothes/Not Clothes. Kawakubo breaks down the imaginary walls between these dualisms, exposing their artificiality and arbitrariness.

On the coming exhibit, the renowned curator of the Met&#39;s Costume Institute, Andrew Bolton says, &quot;If, as Andy Warhol proposed, &lsquo;Business art is the step after art,&rsquo; Rei is his fashion manifestation.&quot;
