Where French chic meets British originality.

French brand Longchamp has announced its collaboration with London-based Gloverall, where the two Houses are reimagining the iconic Le Roseau bag and the duffle coat, reflecting each of their heritage and savoir-faire.

Since 1951, Gloverall has been the go-to label for duffle coat enthusiasts. Defined by its oversized hood and signature fastenings, the duffle coat carries as much character as the iconic figures who have worn it &ndash; from Field Marshal Montgomery to visionaries like Jean Cocteau and Stanley Kubrick.
Crafted from wool cloth in Gloverall&rsquo;s historic London workshops, the duffle coat features a relaxed silhouette, high collar, and an ample hood that are specially tweaked for the collaboration. Its striped lining, replacing the classic plaid, offers a discreet nod to the French marini&egrave;re.

The instantly recognisable toggle-and-rope fastenings, which were first conceived in the 19th century for sailors to secure even with gloved hands, also share a link to Longchamp&rsquo;s heritage, having inspired the signature bamboo toggle of the iconic Le Roseau bag for over 30 years. Today, this emblematic detail is reinvented in maple wood, adding the final touch to the Longchamp x Gloverall duffle coat.
As part of the collaboration, Longchamp&rsquo;s iconic and spacious Le Roseau is reinterpreted through two contemporary classics. Mirroring the duffle coat, the bag is presented in navy blue and nutmeg yellow.

&ldquo;Longchamp is naturally curious about the world and craftsmanship beyond its traditional domain of leather goods. To tell the fabulous story of our Le Roseau bag, which was inspired over 30 years ago by duffle coat toggles, I wanted to go back to the beginning by working with Gloverall, manufacturers in London since 1951. They are true artisans, and we wanted to combine our savoir-faire and our love of beautiful things.
