LOEWE introduces Paula's Ibiza Spring Summer 20, and Creative Director, Jonathan Anderson  shares the vibrant, escapist story of the collection for men and women, including the debut of its summer-inspired fragrance.

To ensure a better future for children in socially vulnerable groups affected by COVID-19, LOEWE will be donating 40 euros&nbsp;to educational projects for every product sold in the Paula&rsquo;s Ibiza fashion collection between May and August 2020 in LOEWE stores and on <a href="https://www.loewe.com/eur/en/home">loewe.com,</a> starting with&nbsp;an initial donation of 500,000 euros.&nbsp;

To achieve this LOEWE is collaborating with Plataforma de Infancia -&nbsp;a Spanish alliance of social organizations that works to protect children and adolescents&rsquo; rights -&nbsp;to launch a series of educational programs this summer in Spain aiming to reduce inequality and school dropouts.

At the same time, in order to give effective help to the institutions which are on the frontline in fighting the pandemic, LOEWE is donating 100,000 surgical masks to the Spanish Red Cross.

In addition, aware that protection aids are of extreme importance to contain the pandemic, LOEWE is producing non-surgical masks in its Getafe factory. The masks are to be distributed to volunteer workers, LOEWE employees and their families.

A Letter from Jonathan Anderson, Creative Director at LOEWE

&quot;Ibiza has always been very dear and very personal to me: it&rsquo;s my deepest tie with Spain, harking back to childhood and adolescence memories.

With this collection, which sees PAULA&rsquo;S IBIZA flourish into a fully-fledged offer for men and women complete with vibrant fragrance and playful accessories, I wanted to capture the breezy spirit of the Balearics and celebrate a moment in time that saw the hedonism of these islands expand to influence subcultures across the world. There is an escapism in rave culture, which germinated here, that I find very timely and I wanted to explore. The collection is a visual feast.

I&rsquo;ve always said that PAULA&rsquo;S IBIZA embodies the spirit of letting go. In this collection that ecstatic abandon is total: part rave, part cyberdog, in acidic neons, faded olive greens and borderline hues of scarlet, sunrise orange and midnight blue.

PAULA&rsquo;S founders Armin Heinemann and Stuart Rudnick created iconic prints inspired by the natural world. I pillaged from this kaleidoscopic archive so that the collection features quite a few of these patterns. Shape and print enhance one the other: mermaids swim amongst red corals on maxi-dresses and long robes with ruffled sleeves; jikin goldfish wander amongst waterlilies on wide-hemmed capri pants, bolero skirts and swimwear. The swarming of prints carries on in the accessories: Puzzles, Totes, Cushions, Pouches and Bumbags, but also explorer hats, caps and visors, feature the same mermaid and waterlily motifs.

The feel is about a summery, playful ease, part leisurewear&mdash;long linen tunics, cropped dungarees and bleached jeans&mdash;part classic summer staples&mdash;striped apr&eacute;s-swim overshirts and soft terry tees. Reflective silver trousers, spiky tops and mini-bomber jackets, complete with day-glo sandals and acetate sunglasses hint more clearly at clubwear. Accessories are just as playful: leather mini bags in the shape of octopuses, dolphins and whales; earring and charms in the form of seahorses and stars, and calf leather fans.

The same liveliness is captured in PAULA&rsquo;S IBIZA debut fragrance for both men and women; a spontaneous and carefree composition distinguished by a playful dynamic between opposing notes of warm ambergris and fresh coconut water.

Craft is the essence of LOEWE, and we interpreted it with a globetrotting sensibility by collaborating with communities of artisans using specialist handcraft techniques and naturally-occurring materials. Palm fronds are cut with a specially-designed sickle and then sun-dried before being braided into classic baskets using the llata technique, a traditional weaving style that originated on the Balearic islands. Squared basket designs are woven in wild reeds on traditional looms, and fine cabuya thread derived from the agave cactus plant is spun, dyed in multicolour sunset hues, and woven into shigra patterns, a unique signature of indigenous communities in Ecuador.

For the visual portfolio I worked again with Gray Sorrenti. We shot images in New Delhi, bringing the vibrancy of the clothing to a lively apex. The protagonists are captured at private parties in Dilliwalen havelis, riding scooters and tuk-tuks along rarely seen corners of the capital&rsquo;s streets, BMXing on rooftops, and amongst members of its B-Boy subculture, creating a feeling of bonding that is not imagined, but real.

The sense of escapism and joy becomes totalizing. As a positive and energizing message, I believe it is very apt for this moment.&quot;
