After a year of isolation and increasingly blurred boundaries between the real and the virtual, it seems that we are living in a glitched version of The Matrix. This may be why one of the motifs featured in Vetements' Spring/Summer 2022 show depicts tangled cables from server farms and bright green binary code mixed with pixelated salamanders and floral prints so bright they almost sparkle.

Vetements, which is now led by Guram Gvsalia—the brand's cofounder, who took over after Demna Gvsalia left the brand to devote himself exclusively to Balenciaga—sticks to a tried-and-true formula in this new collection. For every slip and wrap dress there are three sharply-tailored blazers, all punctuated with the brand's popular slogan tees and hoodies bearing sayings such as "The Devil Doesn't Wear Prada."

The collection's backdrop is reminiscent of a transparent Photoshop grid, further immersing us in Gvasalia's digital world.
