<p><span>&nbsp;Bridging the gap between fashion and art.</span></p>

<p>When it comes to colour palettes, designers tend to opt for neutrals with a splash of colour interspersed throughout a succession of beige and tan outfits in autumn/winter collections. Florals, most often than not, are uncommon. Jonathan Anderson continues to defy convention in&nbsp;his most recent collection for Loewe, which drew inspiration from the colourful&nbsp;works&nbsp;of American painter Albert York.</p>
<p>The opening vibrant and lively mock collar floral maxi dress set the tone for the rest of the looks. After it came dresses of a similar form but with a central cutout, held together by a wide belt. As an alternative to the rose, daisy, and tulip patterns, the dresses were offered in stunning royal and turquoise blue, which complemented the collection&rsquo;s rich colour palette. What came next was a string of quirky outfits that fused modern style with forms from the 18th and 19th centuries. Styles that gave a modern spin on classic silhouettes included long overcoats and pantaloon bottoms, abstractly shaped puffy tops and pants from today. The dog-printed dress is a clear nod to York&rsquo;s idyllic garden style. In addition to his work in still life, York also depicted country animals in his portraits. Another example of York&rsquo;s influence was the look depicting the eagles sitting on a tree, as well as the outfits with vegetable prints.</p>
<p>Landscape painting was York&rsquo;s claim to fame, but he was also famous for depicting peaceful moments away from the chaos of civilisation. With that, Anderson solidified his place in the history books with undeniable originality and once again demonstrated his status as a true visionary.</p>
