A collection that celebrates the maison&rsquo;s artisanal partners.

The quintessential Chanel suit is more than divine; more than a status symbol or piece of design. It is the culmination of imagination and partnerships that stretch back nearly sixty years with artisanal houses that have nearly 900 years of expertise between them.
Behind every M&eacute;tiers d'Art button is Desrues, a button designer established in 1929, and behind every camellia is Lemari&eacute;, a flower maker who set up shop in 1880. Lesage has been blending tweed since 1924, and Massaro has been sewing the soles of shoes since 1894. Goosens first met Coco Chanel in the '60s and from there strung her gold, while Les Ateliers Lognon has reinvented the pleat starting back in 1853.

So while the tag may just read Chanel, Virginie Viard, creative director of Chanel, used the M&eacute;tiers d'Art 2022 collection to pay homage to her partners, Karl Lagerfeld's partners, and even Coco Chanel's partners in a celebration of three designers and eight artisanal houses under one legendary name. And now, under one roof at le19M, a new building where the maison's various artisans go to work.
To commemorate their time together, Chanel tapped Remembers Studio to make accompanying illustrations and an animated film featuring the likenesses of models Fran Summers, Pan Haowen, Mariam de Vinzelle, Rianne Van Rompaey, Loli Bahia, Mica Arga&ntilde;araz, Lola Nicon, and Akon Changkou, all of whom portray the eight M&eacute;tiers d&rsquo;art houses: Lesage, Lemari&eacute;, Massaro, Maison Michel, Goossens, Desrues, Atelier Montex, and Lognon.
