As Two Lips expands its intimate skincare line-up, we caught up with Elisabeth Raman, the brand&rsquo;s R&amp;D and Training Director to learn more about the collection.

Two Lips was a bold move when it first launched. What inspired the start of that journey?
Two Lips was born from the belief that the vulva deserves the same level of care, respect, and innovation as the rest of the body. We recognised a real gap in the market&mdash;intimate skin was either being ignored completely or subjected to products not designed for its unique needs. We wanted to create a line that was honest, elevated, and rooted in skin science, all without shame or euphemism.

The skin in our intimate areas is thinner, more delicate, and more frequently exposed to friction, heat, and hormonal fluctuations. It requires formulas that are not only effective but also incredibly gentle, pH-balanced, and non-disruptive to the skin&rsquo;s natural barrier. We take all of this into account when formulating Two Lips products&mdash;nothing is off-the-shelf or repurposed.

What is the philosophy that guides the development of every Two Lips product?
Science-backed, safety-led, and sensorially satisfying. Every product must deliver measurable skin benefits while being safe enough for intimate use. We formulate with intention, avoid unnecessary fillers, and prioritise ingredients that support skin integrity and user experience. Intimate skincare can&mdash;and should&mdash;be as high-performing and elevated as facial skincare.

What are some key ingredients Two Lips relies on to ensure efficacy, comfort and safety?&nbsp;
We focus on clinically proven, derm-grade ingredients sourced with integrity. Hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, and plant-based antioxidants are among our go-tos. For someone new to intimate skincare, where should they start? Any essential steps you&rsquo;d recommend?

How often should we be using these products&mdash;are we talking daily routine or self-care treat?
Daily hydration and protection are ideal&mdash;think of it like brushing your teeth. But some products, like exfoliators or masks, are better as weekly rituals. Ultimately, it depends on your skin&rsquo;s needs and lifestyle. We design our products to be flexible so you can build a routine that works for you.

What&rsquo;s one myth that really needs to be debunked?
That the vulva needs to be aggressively washed or fragranced. It doesn&rsquo;t. In fact, many traditional products do more harm than good. Our focus has always been on restoring balance, not disrupting it. Your vulva doesn&rsquo;t need to smell like roses, it just needs to feel comfortable, nourished, and supported.
