From pigment engineering to heirloom-worthy design, La Beaut&eacute; Louis Vuitton, Pat McGrath&rsquo;s first line, combines the Maison's history with a contemporary, multifaceted view of luxury.

Louis Vuitton&rsquo;s La Beaut&eacute; Louis Vuitton isn&rsquo;t a tentative first step into cosmetics. It&rsquo;s a fully developed vision, shaped with the same rigour the Maison applies to its couture and leather goods. Dame Pat McGrath DBE, whose influence has defined beauty for over three decades, leads as creative director. Known for pushing boundaries, she breaks down her approach into a single thought: &ldquo;True luxury is when every detail is considered &ndash; from the way the pigment melts into the skin to the way a lipstick feels in your hand.&rdquo; The collection launches with 55 lipsticks, a deliberate nod to the Roman numerals for LV. There are 27 satins with a controlled luminosity and 28 mattes engineered for sculptural depth and long wear. Each is built on an 85% skincare base of upcycled floral waxes, shea butter, and hyaluronic acid &ndash; not as a marketing flourish, but to ensure comfort matches colour impact. The Baume line offers 10 sheer, buildable tints, delivering a softer alternative with 48-hour hydration.

LV Ombres, the eyeshadow collection, consists of eight quads. Each follows the same formula: three versatile shades and one pivot colour designed to shift the mood completely. Six finishes, from bare matte to high-shine glitter, reflect McGrath&rsquo;s backstage habit of layering textures until they feel alive on the skin. Plant-derived squalane and camelina flower oil give the powders a smooth, skin-like finish.

Industrial designer Konstantin Grcic has reimagined the packaging as something worth keeping. The refillable aluminium and brass cases, inspired by the fittings on Louis Vuitton trunks, are as precise in feel as they are in form. 
There&rsquo;s even a discreet tribute to the fragrance world: Master Perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud has created a subtle floral accord for the lip products, adding another layer to the ritual of application.
