Amidst it all, Augustinus Bader is making its own mark with The Skin Infusion. Launched just over a year ago, the product is a four-week treatment programme designed to reset your skin from within. Powered by Advanced TFC8&reg;, the brand&rsquo;s most refined technology to date, it marks a new chapter in precision skincare.
During the launch of Augustinus Bader&rsquo;s The Skin Infusion at Ken&rsquo;s Apothecary, global education director Christiane Werron breaks down everything you need to know about the product.

How does the Advanced TFC8&reg; differ from the original formula?
The TFC8 technology Professor Bader has been working on for over 30 years didn&rsquo;t stop evolving when the brand launched. Recently, he developed a more refined version of the molecular structure of our proprietary peptide &mdash; it&rsquo;s important to note that we don&rsquo;t buy this peptide from elsewhere; it&rsquo;s created entirely in-house. He and his team adjusted the structure to improve how it interacts with the skin&rsquo;s environment. With Advanced TFC8&reg;, it&rsquo;s even more effective in delivering excellent support for skin cell activation &mdash; it&rsquo;s like turning up the volume with a speaker so the message is clearer and louder.&nbsp;
Vitamins A, C and E are often the go-to for skincare. What&rsquo;s the inspiration behind incorporating Vitamin D, and a plant-based one at that?
Globally, we&rsquo;ve seen widespread deficiencies, especially during the pandemic, as people spent more time indoors and wore more sun protection, limiting exposure to sunlight, which is essential for vitamin synthesis. A deficiency in Vitamin D slows down cell renewal, which negatively affects the skin&rsquo;s barrier function. The plant-based Vitamin D activator, which is derived from beetroot extract, helps support your body&rsquo;s existing Vitamin D, and helps maintain healthy cell turnover and rejuvenation.&nbsp;
How do we integrate The Skin Infusion into our skincare routine?
You can use The Skin Infusion as your moisturiser. Start with cleansing &mdash; ideally double cleansing in the evening &mdash; follow with your serum, then apply The Skin Infusion. During the day, follow up with our newly launched SPF 50, which is fantastic.&nbsp;

The Skin Infusion is recommended as a four-week intensive treatment, three to four times a year. What&rsquo;s the philosophy behind these cyclical skin resets?
It&rsquo;s intended as a full treatment course &mdash; ideally used consistently for four to six weeks. Don&rsquo;t start and stop &mdash; consistency is key to results. Once the treatment is complete, you&rsquo;ll notice a real difference.&nbsp;
Some users love it so much they never want to stop, and that&rsquo;s totally fine. However, we see it more like a prescriptive formula. It&rsquo;s not mass-produced; it&rsquo;s a limited-edition product. I recommend using it seasonally to support your skin as the environment changes. It&rsquo;s also great for life transitions, like menopause, after a beach holiday, or even in preparation for a big day. Think of it like an athlete preparing for the Olympics. You train consistently all year, but just before the games, you go into an intensive boot camp. That&rsquo;s what The Skin Infusion does &mdash; it concentrates your skin&rsquo;s potential and takes it to the next level.
Augustinus Bader began with two cult products and now offers a full skincare and haircare range. Where does The Skin Infusion sit in that evolution?
The Skin Infusion is a targeted treatment, similar to a course your doctor might prescribe for recovery. It addresses a specific need and brings your skin back to its best state. Many of our products were developed in response to customer feedback. For example, when we launched The Cream and The Rich Cream in 2018, people began asking for a body product because it was too expensive to use The Rich Cream all over. That&rsquo;s how The Body Cream was born.
Neither Professor Bader nor Charles Rosier comes from a traditional beauty background, so our product development has always felt intuitive and authentic, very much driven by real consumer needs. From there, customers wanted cleansers. Then they asked for serums. And that&rsquo;s how the line naturally grew &mdash; always rooted in functionality and backed by science.
Given how complex skin science is, how do you tailor your education approach across different markets and cultures?
We adapt our educational approach by listening to local needs. In North America, we often use more accessible, high-level explanations &mdash; big narratives and memorable phrases that are easy to digest. In Asia, consumers are extremely skincare-savvy and exposed to a lot of innovation, so the depth of information we provide there is higher. It&rsquo;s crucial that our sales teams are equipped with the right tools to answer both surface-level and in-depth questions.
What have you learnt about today&rsquo;s skincare users based on how people around the world have responded to the brand?
I truly believe we helped open the door to science-driven skincare. During the pandemic, people had time to research, explore ingredients, and learn from influencers. That created a lot of curiosity &mdash; and sometimes confusion &mdash; but also opened a path for deeper understanding.&nbsp;
Consumers now demand proof that products work. That&rsquo;s the biggest shift I&rsquo;ve seen in the industry. And our approach sets us apart. We&rsquo;ve never been about treating symptoms. From the beginning, we&rsquo;ve focused on supporting the biological intelligence of the skin itself. That&rsquo;s what makes Augustinus Bader unique. In a world of 10-step routines, we&rsquo;ve always believed in respecting the skin as a living organ and providing it with exactly what it needs. No more, no less. And even as we expand into haircare and bodycare, that philosophy remains unchanged: targeted, curated support at the highest level.
