This season, hair is permed, backcombed and bigger than Gretchen Wieners’ hair-full-of-secrets.



Ditch your smoothing serums and bring out the crimpers and curling irons, because this Spring/Summer 2017, we&rsquo;re going for more volume.

As seen on the runway,&nbsp;there are several levels of &ldquo;hair-bigness&rdquo; that we can emulate. Think Topshop Unique&rsquo;s side-parted, regular-permed waves, Thom Browne&rsquo;s big, blow-up manes and Vanessa Seward&rsquo;s super tight, fluffy curls.

Achieving big hair is thankfully, not that difficult &ndash; but it takes effort. So, here we have stylist Cody Chua to give us a step-by-step guide on how to achieve those wisps a la Vanessa Seward.

First use a primer on the hair (we recommend Shiseido Professional Stage Works Moisturizing Primer) and then blow dry hair smooth in sections.

Following that, take a small section of hair and twist it around a big U-shaped pin. Repeat until you&rsquo;re done with your entire hair.

When you&rsquo;re done, remove all the pins and sprinkle dry powder on the scalp (Chua recommends the Osis+ Dust It mattifying powder) and do&nbsp;some backcombing to give more volume to the hair.
