It's time to invest in specific treatments and products without side effects.

When you want a stronger skin renewal, the most effective ingredients in our skincare routine are acids, which can treat everything from acne to wrinkles.

However, higher temperatures discourage the use of retinoid, glycolic, salicylic, and mandelic acids, because they are photosensitive which means they can stain or irritate your skin in the presence of the sun or heat.

As temperature rise and the sun rears its bright head out of the clouds, it&#39;s time to invest in effective (but less irritating) acids or other strategies to keep your skin refreshed. &quot;The best thing to do is to consult a dermatologist who will prescribe the best treatment according to what your skin needs,&quot; says dermatologist Dr Abdo Salom&atilde;o Jr.

Combine types of hyaluronic acid

Hyaluronic acid is part of the extracellular matrix, where the collagen and elastin fibers are located. &ldquo;With advancing age, hyaluronic acid decreases, also reducing skin hydration and elasticity. So, when there is a lack of hyaluronic acid, there is dehydration of the skin and a tendency towards sagging, wrinkles, furrows, and loss of luminosity,&quot; explains dermatologist Dr. Salom&atilde;o.

Using hyaluronic acids of different molecular weights will allow the compound to penetrate the skin at varying levels, promoting deeper overall hydration.

Discover retinol-like peptides

Retinol is considered the &ldquo;gold standard&rdquo; active ingredient in skin rejuvenation because it stimulates the production of collagen to reduce signs of aging. However, it can cause side effects including redness, irritation, tenderness, and peeling.

The Italian dermo-cosmetic brand Ada Tina Italy created Retintense 5.0, an ultra-rejuvenating and skin-lightening serum free of pure retinol and developed with retinol-like peptides, which can even be used during the day.

&ldquo;Retinol-like peptides are four times more potent than pure retinol and are capable of increasing collagen production in the skin by 20%, providing a lifting effect, facial harmonization, wrinkle filling, and bleaching of blemishes without causing side effects,&quot; states Maurizio Pupo, Director of Research and Development at Ada Tina Italy.

Bet on vitamin C

&ldquo;Vitamin C can be used throughout the year, but we reinforce its use in the summer because that&#39;s when heat and UV rays from the sun cause more free radicals and damage to the skin, so protecting your skin with vitamin C is essential to achieve a more beautiful and healthy glow,&quot; says expert Dr. Lucas Fustinoni.

&quot;In addition, in the summer, we use fewer acids and powerful substances because they are impacted by the sun, so vitamin C is an important way to treat spots at high temperatures.&quot;

According to Dr. Fustinoni, vitamin C helps repair the skin and protect against oxidation, aging, and damage from free radicals, while softening the skin and fighting against wrinkles. &quot;In addition, vitamin C is still able to uniform skin tone, brighten the skin, prevent blemishes, and moisturize the skin tissue,&quot; adds the specialist.

Always use sunscreen

If we&#39;d said it once, we&#39;ll say it 1,000 times: sunscreen is essential. According to dermatologist Dr. Daniel Cassiano, before worrying about a routine that contains acids and antioxidants, get in the regular habit of applying sunscreen.

&ldquo;It is the most important anti-aging cream. In addition, preserving the skin barrier is essential to keep the skin healthy,&quot; says the dermatologist. Before using the photoprotector, you can also apply a product with vitamin C. &ldquo;This ingredient increases the protection of the skin against UV radiation and has an action contrary to the immunosuppression caused by this radiation. It is also known for its anti-inflammatory effects.&quot;

Invest in the manipulated

Sun damage can be highly influenced by our genetics. Certain gene types have been found to impact collagen production and the skin&#39;s natural elasticity. These characteristics predispose the patient to have more wrinkles and suffer more with photoaging. However, scientists have developed products to fight these natural deficiencies.

&ldquo;There are substances that can act to prevent these changes. Using creams with antioxidants like OTZ 10, Superox C, and Alistin is a good option. According to nutritionist Luisa Wolpe Simas, supplements are a great way to aid the anti-aging work of aesthetic treatments.

&ldquo;There are orally active ingredients that help in this process and serve as a substrate for the aesthetic treatments to really work. This is the case with Exsynutriment and Glycoxil,&quot; says the nutritionist.

&ldquo;Exsynutriment is silicon stabilized in marine collagen. It stimulates the production of collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid, which improves skin tone and reduces sagging. Glycoxil, a carcinin, is an anti-glycant. It combats sugar molecules combining with collagen fibers in the proteins of our skin, this decreasing sagging and improving skin elasticity.&quot;

To increase the effectiveness of beauty treatments, Simas recommends taking supplements for three to six months.
