When it comes to the Salone del Mobile, dubbed the Oscars of design and furniture, there is so much more to see and experience than just home decor.

Art exhibits and installations always flood the city of Milan with its innovation and creativity and it&#39;s no different for this Salone del Mobile 2018, happening&nbsp;from 17th to 22nd&nbsp;April 2018. It is a true spectacle to behold and a must for all who is in Milan right now.

Vitra x Robert Stadler 

Famous Swiss furniture company Vitra is bringing a new design experience to Milan this year, aside from their usual setup at Salone del Mobile.

Collaborating with Austrian designer&nbsp;Robert Stadler, Vitra is hosting an art installation that illustrates the company&#39;s history and heritage, titled &quot;Typecasting: An Assembly of Iconic, Forgotten and New Vitra Characters&quot;.

Hosted at&nbsp;La Pelota in Milan, visitors can now immerse themselves in an expansive exhibition of Vitra creations and learn more about the company.

Reinventing (Design) Rules by Bulgari

Titled &quot;Reinventing (Design) Rules&quot;,&nbsp;Bulgari is taking over Milan with three unique installations, spread across the city.

Located in Brera Design District, Bulgari Hotel and the Bulgari&#39;s&nbsp;Montenapoleone boutique, each installation brings a unique design journey unlike any other.

Start yours at Brera&#39;s&nbsp;1000-metre-squared installation that translates three key elements of Bvlgari creativity &ndash; materials, modularity and colour &ndash; into a three-dimensional space before heading to the Mirror Cube at the hotel and finally the boutique that is hosting&nbsp;the mesmerising&nbsp;Bvlgari Gallery.

Open Sky installation by Phillip K. Smith III for COS

Sculpted with mirror panels&nbsp;in a semi-circular silhouette, the Open Sky installation by COS, in collaboration with&nbsp;artist&nbsp;Phillip K. Smith III&nbsp;is one to behold.

Found inside&nbsp;Milan&rsquo;s&nbsp;Palazzo Isimbardi, this marks the seventh time COS had made an appearance at Salone del Mobile and remains one of the staples for visitors.

Altered Space by Snarkitecture for Caesarstone

Created exclusively for Caesarstone, New York design studio&nbsp;Snarkitecture brings to Salone del Mobile 2018 an&nbsp;experiential space, made of Caesarstone White Attica, and 250 Caesarstone metal mesh pedestals.

A reinterpretation of a kitchen space, visitors are invited to immerse themselves in this all-white kitchen island, that reflects a kitchen&#39;s use as a social hub.

Softwear curated by Lidewij Edelkoort for Google

Making its first Salone del Mobile appearance, Google decides to explore&nbsp;the co-relation between technology and daily life with its installation titled &quot;Softwear&quot;, which is curated by Lidewij Edelkoort.

Placed inside&nbsp;multiple rooms of Rossana Orlandi&rsquo;s gallery in Milan, the installation features a series of Google tech hardware against everyday life products to illustrate how technology finds itself in our lives.
